Position Description
The Account Coordinator is responsible for providing support across project teams. This includes, but is not limited to, media tracking and list building, Internet research, copy editing, drafting communications materials, and general office and client support. Other tasks may include coordinating event logistics, conducting pitch calls and other media outreach activities, developing databases, coordinating mailings, and assembling press packets, training kits, or other materials. The Account Coordinator reports directly to the Senior Account Executive.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Drafts client memos that can be forwarded to the client with minimal edits by the account lead
- Attends client meetings and takes minutes, and captures action items
- Takes notes at planning meetings that the project lead can turn into an outline for a communications plan
- Actively participates in internal client brainstorming sessions by offering ideas for each project
- Reviews online and print coverage for clients and relevant industries and provides summaries to account teams
- Creates media lists that demonstrate a solid understanding of the media
- Proactively contributes ideas to projects
- Coordinates event logistics and assists with event management
- Consistently meets project deadlines as set by a team lead
- Attends training and presents a summary to staff
- Consistently demonstrates the ability to problem-solve when client issues arise successfully
- Works well with and demonstrates respect for colleagues at all levels and consistently contributes to a positive work environment
- Works on other duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- Expertise in using MS Office software and Internet research tools
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proven ability to meet deadlines, juggle multiple projects and work independently in a fast-paced office
- Knowledge of current events
- Attention to detail
- Independent self-starter who successfully initiates and completes assignments in a hybrid work environment
Experience and Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- One to two years of full-time office experience
- PR experience at an agency is preferred
Salary Information
$45,000 – $55,000 (commensurate with experience)
